Apparently the CES 2013 launch will not be the only exciting event on the 8th of January this year. If you find yourself in New York that day, do not miss the rare opportunity to listen to some brainwave generated music – for free. The NYC-based collective of music professionals known as ManhatPro is hosting HEADSPACE – Brain-Controlled Music to showcase the latest developments at the intersection of neuroscience and new media with a particular focus on music.

On Tuesday, 8th of January a live demonstration in New York will use the 14-channel Emotiv EPOC EEG headset to drive spatial control of music in 5.1 surround sound, as well as real-time visual effects based on the thoughts, moods and emotions of the headset-wearer.

The event is free, and will serve as an encore performance of the presentation given by ManhatPro’s Richard Warp at the October, 2012 AES convention in San Francisco.

“It’s a fascinating experience, and we believe it presents myriad implications for everything from composition to healing”, says Mr. Warp.
